( To view your luxury accommodation click here ) Each day is individually themed to give you the perfect and ultimate all round experience of the food, the food history, the culture and not forgetting the delicious wines of Puglia! Day one: (Thursday) Arrive at Brindisi airport. Transfer to accommodation. Relax from your journey by having a drink by the pool where snacks will be served. Day two: (Friday) A visit to a wonderful Cheese makers, set in a beautiful Masseria (Farmhouse) overlooking the Adriatic Sea. Followed by a gourmet picnic al fresco. A visit to one of the most famous wineries in Puglia. You will see how the wine is made – followed by a wine tasting and a chance to buy. Dinner back at the orchard in the garden, where you’ll sample the great local food. It’s also a chance for you to put your new found wine knowledge to the test! Day three: (Saturday) Pasta Making: You will be guided through the pasta making by a local expert who’s been making Oriecchette and Sagne the local pasta for years. Is the proof of the pudding in the eating? A chance to sample what you’ve learned to make al fresco in the beautiful orchard. In the afternoon, take a trip to a local Masseria, where you’ll be shown the ancient art of olive oil making. There’ll also be an opportunity to purchase some of the best olive oil the region has to offer. A chance to experience a real Puglian night out. We take you to a restaurant even some of the locals don’ t know about. It’s not just a real one off but also the best way to sample the Puglian culture: the music, the food, the wine and the local speciality liquor!. Day four: (Sunday) We’ll transport you down to the delightful port of Castro, where your boat will be waiting. You’ll have a cookery lesson on board the boat with the best of the morning’s catch followed by a picnic lunch at sea. We’ll also take you around some of the breathtaking grotto's, which lie along the coast. Followed by a trip to the very tip of the “heel” Santa Maria di Leuca. On a clear day you will able to see the mountains of Albania, Corfu and the Greek coastline. Barbecue and food quiz night back at the Villa Day Five: (Monday) Are you foodies hungry for more? Today’s trip will take you to one of Italy’s vibrant food markets where you can buy AND sample the best of the local food. As Rick Stein says, an Italian market is like watching a piece of theatre. So it’s time to experience market day Italian style, with a rich and colourful array of stalls selling everything from several different types of olives, to local nuts and pulses to fruit and veg. Sample the delicious cheeses and meats. Plus the wonderful meat stalls with their rotisseries and the fish stalls where most of the produce is still flapping around. Your final dinner takes you to a beautiful Palazzo for a gourmet dinner, Italian style. Day Six: (Tuesday) A trip to the historical town of Otranto, with its stunning Cathedral and its quaint shops set within the ancient city walls. A last chance to purchase some gourmet treats. A quick lunch back at the Villa then a couple of hours to relax, unwind and freshen up before you leave for the airport at 6pm.
