DUE TO POPULAR DEMAND WE ARE ALSO OFFERING THREE SPECIAL BREAKS FOR 2009: EASTER SPECIAL: (9th -14th April). This will celebrate the tradition of Easter. The most important event in the religious calendar here in Puglia. It’s a great chance to enjoy traditional Easter dishes such as Easter lamb with a fresh green pea and Parmesan sauce. We’ll also be showing you how to make the traditional local pasta, making the most of the mouth- watering new season spring vegetables. This is a wonderful time of the year to sample the new season’ s fresh sweet produce. Our Easter experience will also include Easter parades, wine tasting and a visit to a traditional Easter market, full of mouth-watering desserts and beautifully decorated Easter eggs. LOCAL ITALIAN FESTIVALS SPECIAL ( 2nd - 7th July) This will incorporate the local Italian festivals into our tour. A great chance to sample lots more of the typical Salentine food AND drink some fantastic wine. If you like, you can also join the locals, dancing to the famous folk music: the Pizzica. Villages in Puglia are transformed at festival time, by amazing light shows and mind blowing firework displays. So expect a real eclectic mix of culinary delights, as you visit each village, celebrating their own particular food: from snails to octopus and wine to ice cream. THE MERCATO DEL GUSTO (July 30th – August 4th) This five day break is food heaven for those who love eating Italian. It’s a very special tour for real foodies and includes the yearly celebration of Puglian food and wine: The Mercato Del Gusto. Chefs travel from all over Italy to cook their signature dishes here in Puglia. Their award winning cuisine comes to life in the local parks, which are magically transformed into candlelit restaurants for this amazing festival. There are hundreds of stalls, where you are at liberty to taste away, as well as huge array of wine tasting stands too. Every single wine from Puglia can be sampled here: red, white, rose and sparkling wines all feature. So, for an Italian food and wine lover, this break really is a must. Our tour will include most of what we feature in our main programme, but this festival is an extra bonus and will include a dinner in one of the parks with a top Italian chef.
